Original game used baseball from Nellie Fox's record setting 798th consecutive game playing second base. After the game, someone had the foresight to take one of the game balls, hand decorate it and present it to Fox as a memento from one of his most remarkable achievements. This highly decorated ball features the number "798" in bold black, hand painted images of ball players and reads, "All Nellie's mates are gone over his new consecutive game record, A whale of a fellow! A whale of a record!" and "The flu bug chokes off Nellie's streak." This unique and one of a kind ball shows use and the paint has a nice patina.
