Circa 1909, this T206 portrait of Hall of Famer Honus Wagner was the actual pose used for the most famous baseball card in history. Photographed by Carl Horner and including his signature on the matte, it is among the best work we have ever seen. The quality is amazing. The image is a type 1 with incredible, crisp detail. Originally, it was separated from the mount because archives did not have the space to hold all of these thick images. However, this one was rescued from the archive untrimmed and was put back on an original Carl Horner mount by a highly professional conservator. This is one of the true Holy Grail's of baseball photography.
