Very fine lot of (2) 1920's A.G. Spalding metal trophies. Offered here is (1) 1920's Spalding Figural "Catcher" Trophy. During the 1920s, Spalding began offering a line of figural baseball trophies. The trophy line included five baseball versions in different poses. This "Catcher" trophy stands 18" tall and is mounted on a black painted wooden base. It was produced by Dirges & Clust. The base area has heavy scuffing, areas of paint loss, and cracking throughout. The figure and ball he sits upon have been painted years ago. Also offered is (1) 1920's Spalding figural "The Fielder" trophy. "The Fielder" measures 16" tall and is mounted on an oval black painted wooden base. It was also produced by Dirges & Clust with this example having a small rectangular placard with the company name. The base has heavy paint wear, scuffing and peeling throughout. The figure and its elevated field base were painted years ago. An emblem reading Honolulu Business Mens Baseball League 1924 won by Del Monte is included but is loose from the base. An Art Deco style Spalding Trophy appears on one side with crossed baseball bats and a ball. A pair of rarely seen early baseball items.
