Offered here is a large group of Famous Actress tobacco cards, issued by Admiral, early Allen & Ginter, Duke’s, Kinney, G & A Navy and Sweet Caporal. These popular cards were included in the company’s tobacco products in the late 19th century. Virtually all cards are brown sepia-toned (with only a handful in color) and overall present in FR to VG-EX condition, with about a third having the original owner’s name written neatly on the back. Note that the vast majority (90%) of cards are from Sweet Caporal. The famous and the not-so-famous are all included, everyone from Lillian Russell to Edith Pond. While it is unknown exactly how many different images were produced for these actress cards, it would be safe to say that the vast majority can be found here! Some ‘Beware of Imitations’ Sweet Caporal backs (not often seen) are also included. This great collection will provide hours of enjoyment categorizing or breaking down for resale.
