Interesting 1923 Columbia University "The Columbian" class yearbook. The book measures 8.75x10.5" and is a leather bound hardcover. The yearbook features Lou Gehrig in his sophomore year playing for the Columbia football team. The book contains two photos of Gehrig - one with the team and one individual. He is also mentioned on the roster of Phi Delta Theta fraternity but not pictured. Ironically, Gehrig was ineligible to play baseball during this period because of his participation in a baseball summer league. The yearbook also features Gehrig's teammate and College Football Hall of Famer Walter Koppisch (1981). A very tough to find yearbook despite the size of the class and the first one we've seen in a number of years. This copy is inscribed George Rubenfeld Flushing, NY on the inside front page. The book has archival tape on the spine and the interior binding. Overall appearance is excellent.
