Bring back this bit of history, sheet music for a new song, "Boston Americans March." The Boston Americans made history in 1903 because they won the first modern World Series, defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-3 in games; the Series was then a best-of-nine games. From when the Boston American League baseball team was called "The Americans," not yet the Red Sox. The star pitcher for the Americans was the greatest winning pitcher in history, Cy Young, who went 28-9 and would someday lend his name to the award for the greatest pitcher each season. One of the best sheet music examples, only a handful known. HOFer Jimmy Collins, the Americans' manager and third baseman, on cover. Song is composed by J. Ignatius Coveney, composer of the 'Class of 1903." Six pages, including cover and back. Some small tears and minor spotting.
