1) Never saw this one, 1947 Christy Mathewson Day program. This came with the "disc" that you often see. The program was for a "160th Celebration of the town of Factoryville," Pennsylvania, Mathewson's home town. The program describes Factoryville as being founded in 1787, and one of the early founding families was Mathewson. The town had various names, but took the name Factoryville after a cotton factory was built. The program also has many facts about Mathewson and lists the rosters of two baseball teams that will play a game to raise money for a community center. Nice tribute to inaugural Hall of Fame inductee. 2) Walter Johnson Memorial Unveiling game program, from June 21, 1947, in Washington, D.C. Shows the impressive memorial to Walter Johnson, winner of 414 Major League games, and an Inaugural Inductee to the Hall of Fame. The program has a cover photo of the new statue and a photo of Johnson on verso. Some pages containing the line-ups of the game between the Washington Senators and he St. Louis Browns are missing, but the cover and the key pages, including a lengthy bio of Johnson, are intact.
