Set of catcher's equipment worn by Wilson Ramos during Max Scherzer's first MLB no-hitter. On June 20, 2015, Wilson Ramos was crouching behind the plate relaying signals to star pitcher Max Scherzer. Max had pitched flawlessly though 8 2/3 innings and was now one out away from a perfect game. Facing pinch hitter Jose Tabata with a 2-2 count, Ramos signaled for a slider. The pitch was high and inside, never quite breaking to the plate. The ball clipped Tabata's elbow pad sending him to first. It was Scherzer's only mistake of the game as he forced a fly ball from the next batter, ending the game. While missing out on a perfect game, Scherzer threw 106 pitches with 82 strikes and 10 strikeouts on his way to his first Major League no-hitter. Ramos called the near-perfect game and would later lament that Tabata leaned into the pitch. For his part, Scherzer never faulted Tababa. Scherzer would go on to pitch another no-hitter later that season. Interestingly, Ramos would catch that game also marking the third time he would call a no-hitter in two seasons. Included in this lot are Ramos' game used red Under Amour face guard signed in silver Sharpie "Wilson Ramos 40," and "2nd No Hitter 06/20/15," red UnderAmour chest protector signed in silver sharpie "Wilson Ramos 40" and "2nd No Hitter 06/20/15", red UnderArmour shin pads both signed in silver Sharpie "Wilson Ramos 40" and "2nd No Hitter 06/20/15" and a pair of game worn UnderAmour cleats from the season signed in blue Sharpie, "Wilson Ramos" and "2015 Game Used." This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of baseball history.
