Depicts the Red Sox dogpile at the mound at Busch Stadium following their 2004 World Series win - breaking the Curse of the Bambino. The "Curse" was a superstition dating from the off-season 1919-1920 sale of Babe Ruth from the Red Sox to the New York Yankees. Boston owner Harry Frazee needed money to finish the Broadway production of "My Lady Friends," the forerunner of the musical "No, No, Nanette." Since the sale of Ruth, the Red Sox failed to win a World Series until the 2004 sweep when the Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals. Babe Ruth "in the clouds" ripping in-half the "Curse of the Bambino." Can easily spot players such as Damon, Ramirez, Martinez, Ortiz, Varitek, Schilling and manager Terry Francona. Signed by artist Opie Otterstad. Limited Edition #86/204. Measures 28.5x42".
