The National Chicle Sky Birds set, produced in 1933-34, continued the tradition of high quality gum cards in the world of non-sports. Goudey had just produced their high quality Indian Gum cards, and National Chicle responded in kind with their full color Sky Birds set, depicting all the great aviators and planes of the day. This complete set of 108 cards includes the very tough-to find high #s 97-108. Cards are in overall EX to EX-MT condition, with specials as follows: #1 (EX-MT corners but creased), #20 Rickenbacker (EX), #23 Von Richthofen (EX-MT, print marks), #32 Doolittle (EX-MT, slight o/c), #36 Lindbergh (PSA 5), #48 Earhart (EX+), #49 Wright (EX+, o/c), #62 Post (EX-MT), #72 Spirit of St. Louis (EX-MT) and #108 (last card, VG, crease). In addition, six (6) cards have been professionally graded: #30 (SGC 60), #31 (SGC 50), #33 (SGC 50), #34 (SGC 50), #39 (PSA 4) and #44 (SGC 60).
