Awesome lot of fourteen Western Union telegrams sent to Clemente for the occasion of 1970 Roberto Clemente Night at Three Rivers Stadium, plus a program (bottom tear) for the event. Also included is a telegram regarding his performance the 1971 World Series. All are date stamped. Seven are in English and eight are in Spanish. Senders and excerpts include: Bowie Kuhn (MLB Commissioner): "How richly you have earned the honors now given you...In the years ahead, smash all the records within your marvelous grasp."; Joe Reichler (Office of the Commissioner): "You are a Major Leaguer both on and off the field."; Chub Feeney (NL President): "Your great performance over the years speaks for itself."; Luis A Ferre (Governor of Puerto Rico): "The people of Puerto Rico and I are very proud of your outstanding achievements as one of Baseball's greatest players."; Emilia Ponce de Leon: "There never was a finer man or greater baseball player in the history of the United States."; David J.
