What a fun and nostaglic lot. Jim Bouton was an effective hard-throwing pitcher for the New York Yankees and later for other teams as a knuckleballer. . He wrote the book, "Ball Four", which was a humanizing and, for the time, shocking look at baseball from the inside. Includes Steinbrenner (2), one of the cards, evidently sent in a year the New York Yankees did not win the World Series, shows Steinbrenner's legendary thirst for winning, even during the holidays, as the card says, "Close only counts in horseshoes". A note in a card from fellow pitcher Steve Hamilton kids Bouton, as Hamilton writes, "I am anxious to continue our discussion (I think) next summer". Hamilton adds, "Have your instructors recovered from you yet?". Yogi Berra's family sent a cute card with the three Berra Boys names and ages listed: Larry 17 (who played baseball in the minors), Tim 15 (who played football for the Baltimore Colts), and Dale 10) (who played baseball in the Major Leagues, for Pittsburgh, the New York Yankees, and the Houston Astros). Also, Bobby Richardson, John Blanchard,  Bill Stafford, Bob Turley, Hector Lopez, and evn Howard Cossell (2) +. Well over 100 cards with 70 percent signed by the family of an athlete or sporting personage or by the athlete or sporting personage athlete himself, plus over 100 more unsigned cards, mostly from family of athlete or athlete himself.
