The Ritchie versus Murphy bout was originally slated for December 10, 1913, but ended up being pushed forward and played out on April 17, 1914. Ritchie would win a twenty-round decision over Murphy to retain his lightweight title. This is, in all likelihood, the only known on-site exemplar from Coffroth's 8th Street Arena in San Francisco. At some point after the bout, the poster was restored to fill in the rips and tears. The restoration was not done professionally, as the areas of restoration are visible clearly. Matted and framed 23x50.5" overall with some chips and dings present on the frame.
