Presented is a 1960s Vivien Leigh vintage signed original, 3.3x5.5" black & white photograph in Near Mint condition. Leigh was a British American actress who won two Academy Awards for Best Actress: as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind (1939), and as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire (1951). An accomplished stage actress, she starred in the play version of A Streetcar Named Desire in London in 1949 before she reprised the role in the motion picture of the same name. She won a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical for Tovarich (1963). Known for her great beauty, she actually felt that her attractiveness hampered her acceptance as an actress, feeling that the public and critics did not take her talent seriously. For much of her life, she battled bipolar disorder. She also had chronic tuberculosis, which led to her death in 1967. The offered photo, which highlights the actress's classic beauty, is in NEAR MINT condition. The actress has signed and inscribed the photo, writing in blue ink, as "All good wishes/Vivien Leigh" in an 8/10 autograph. The photo has been encapsulated, and PSA/DNA Certified as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
