Group of Pittsburgh Pirates original film negatives, including three picturing Roberto Clemente at second base after he collected his 3,000th hit in a game against the New York Mets on September 30, 1972, at Three Rivers Stadium. The collection consists of four uncut strips of film negatives, with each strip displaying five separate images. Also included is a copy negative (5x4") of a wire photo picturing the Three Rivers scoreboard following Clemente's historic 3,000th hit. The uncut strip featuring Clemente at second base after his 3,000th hit also includes two images of the fans giving Clemente an ovation. None of the other strips features Clemente. One pictures action against the Mets, which may be from the September 30th game, while another strip shows a play at the plate in a game that appears to be against the Phillies. Each uncut strip measures 7.5x1.25 inches. Excellent condition overall.
