Incredible ticket stub to one of the most famous thoroughbred races in history, the 1920 Kenilworth Gold Cup showdown between Sir Barton and Man O' War. Measuring 3.75x2" the white stub heralds the October 12, 1920, match race between the first winner of what would come to be known as racing's "Triple Crown" in 1919 - Sir Barton - and the dominant Man O' War, with both horses listed in bold red lettering. The tear is very slightly uneven but nice, and while the ticket shows overall wear it retains a superb presentation. Man O' War pulled away to win the race by 7 lengths, tarnishing the legacy of Sir Barton, in what was the first ever fully-recorded thoroughbred race. The footage was edited into a short titled "The Race of The Age," giving the race national notoriety, though sadly, the original reels have been lost to time and only snippets currently remain. Encapsulated by PSA as STUB PR 1.
