Adams spent four seasons as the Denver Nuggets (1987-1991), starting point guard, leading the team to the postseason in each of his first three seasons. During the 1989-1990 season, Adams averaged 15.5 points per game and 6.3 assists per game. He retired after the 1995-1996 season with 9,621 points and 4,209 assists.
