Incredible archive of original photographs, ticket and signed scorecard from the February 26, 1950, "Pageant Match" at the Bobby Jones Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida, where Sam Snead and Chick Harbert were paired with the famed Bauer sisters, Marlene and Alice. The Catoe Photography Studio was on hand to record the event and this scrapbook originates from a Catoe family member. The Bauer sisters were queens of the golf world that winter and were the main draw for the match, despite Snead's status as the reigning PGA "Golfer of the Year." The match paired Sam Snead and Marlene Bauer against Chick Harbert and Alice Bauer.

1) The scorecard (5.5x6"; unfolded), which shows a tie score of 140 for each team after eighteen holes, has been signed in pencil by Snead, Marlene Bauer, and Harbert (twice), and in blue ink by Alice Bauer. Signatures average 7/10. (The scorecard has been scored in pencil in an unknown hand.) Eight additional pencil signatures appear on the front and back covers, including a member of the Catoe family. The scorecard displays adhesive residue along the perimeter from its having been removed from an album page; otherwise it is in Excellent condition.

2) The ticket (3x3.25") features the location, date, and the names of both Snead and Harbert, but refers to the Bauer sisters as "Two Famous Women Golfers." The ticket displays adhesive residue along the perimeter from its having been removed from an album page; otherwise it is in Excellent condition.

3) The eight large scrapbook-album pages (12x13") feature a total of sixteen original black-and-white photos (two to a page), all of which are attached to their respective page by means of a staple in each of the four corners. Also included are three loose photos removed from the album pages, plus a small snapshot photo. Several handwritten notations are written on the album pages, including one of Snead attempting a short putt that reads "Snead missed this one!" The album photos measure 8x5" on average, while the snapshot photo measures 3.25x4". Excellent condition overall.
