Unique baseball signed by members of the New York Yankees and other players, circa 1934, including eight Hall of Famers. The Tuber "Amateur League" baseball has been signed in either blue or green fountain pen by the following twenty-two players: Babe Ruth (side panel; grading 6/10), Lou Gehrig (sweet spot; grading 8/10), Bill Dickey, Rabbit Maranville, Earle Combs, Red Ruffing, Lefty Gomez, Joe McCarthy, Dixie Walker, Don Heffner, Johnny Broaca, Ben Chapman, Cliff Melton, Buddy Lewis, Jimmy DeShong, Johnny Allen, Pepper Martin, Elbie Fletcher (sweet spot), Buck Jordan, Marvin Duke, Frank Hogan, and one other (partially illegible; appears to read Jerry Greenwald). Signatures range from 5/10 to 9/10, averaging 7/10. Given the names on this ball, which include both American and National League players, as well as Marvin Duke, who never appeared on a Major League roster, but played twelve seasons of minor league ball, this ball was most likely signed during spring training. It is also one of the rare balls signed by both Ruth and Gehrig where Gehrig's signature sits on the sweet spot. The red-and-blue stitched ball is lightly soiled, with all the manufacturer's stampings clearly legible. Full LOA from PSA.
