Worth "Junior League" baseball signed in either blue or black fountain pen by fourteen players, most of whom were members of the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals during the early-to-mid 1930s. The signatures featured on the ball are those of Babe Ruth (sweet spot; grading 7/10), Lou Gehrig (side panel; 6/10), Dizzy Dean, Red Ruffing, Joe McCarthy, Bill Dickey, Pepper Martin, Red Rolfe, Johnny Allen, Emil Fuchs (Boston Braves owner), Rip Collins, Johnny Murphy, Dan MacFayden, Norm Kies, and one other (illegible). Signatures range from 3/10 to 7/10, averaging 5/10. Given the fact that the Yankees and Cardinals never met in the World Series during the 1930s, and the ball includes the signature of Norm Kies, who was never on an official Major League roster (he spent fifteen seasons in the minors, including four seasons with the Newark Bears, the Yankees AAA farm club), this ball was most likely signed during spring training. The ball is moderately soiled, with bold manufacturer's stampings. Full LOA from PSA.
