Displayed is a simply gorgeous, fully restored vintage circa 1900 "adder" National Cash Register (NCR) that is bound to create great interest in any memorabilia collection. What's not to absolutely adore about this gleaming cash register with its superb brass finish detail? Manufactured by NCR in Dayton, Ohio, it measures 20.5" tall by 16" deep by 9.5" wide. The register weighs 62 lbs. There is a faux-wood metal base that could easily pass the "look test" for actual wood. On the top part of the register is an approx. 3.5x9" attached metal "sign" that reads, "Amount Purchased." The "window" of the register has 11 approx. 1.5x1.5" tabs that correspond to the 11 lower keys to show 10 different sale amounts as well as a "No Sale" notice. Each of the 11 circular keys has a 0.75" diameter and indicates: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, and 75 cents; 1 dollar, and No Sale. All of the keys and tabs work. When the cash drawer pops open, a throwback bell rings to lightly punctuate the moment. Under the display tabs is a metal "tag" that shows the serial number as, "733336/211". On the bottom front is a cash drawer that is currently operable. On the back is a "National" brand indicator. There are two small, built-in locks, one on the left side and one in the middle front. These locks operate to open the cash register to reveal the interior working mechanisms, and in the realistic faux-wooden cash drawer is an applicable key for each of these locks. The register's appeal is enhanced by its many raised artistic displays. This beautifully-restored cash register will fascinate any collector and charm all who experience its working brilliance.
