During the Cincinnati Reds' 17-game exhibition tour of Japan in November of 1978, Pete Rose received, wore, and later signed this red zippered Mizuno jacket with the all-time hits king's name in white block letters on the back. Mizuno was angling to become an outfitter with the Reds, even creating uniform prototypes expressly for this purpose. Rose's signature and "Best Wishes" message are written in black ink across the front of the fleece, just below the logo.
