Displayed is a 1930s Babe Ruth multi-signed "Official Major League" baseball, with eight signatures including Ruth and fellow Hall of Famer Waite Hoyt. Hoyt must have signed the ball before Ruth, because Hoyt signed on the sweet spot, and Ruth's signature is to the right of the sweet spot. Others signing the ball: Charlie Hargreaves, Ownie Carroll, Eddie "Doc" Farrell, Bill McCarren, Al Mamaux, and Red Shannon. With a 94-46 career pitching record and a 2.28 career ERA, Ruth's early career displayed pitching excellence, and then he went on to belt 714 lifetime home runs, often hitting more home runs by himself in one season than did several other combined teams. The Bambino batted a lifetime .342, and he still holds the Major League career records for slugging (.690) and OPS (1.164). Waite Hoyt was a teammate for ten seasons with Babe Ruth on the New York Yankees, and Hoyt also played on six other Major League teams in a 21-year career. Hoyt has a 237-182 career record, with a 3.59 ERA. The "skin" of the ball has come off in a number of small spots. A few tiny portions of the ball's outer skin have come off over parts of the Ruth signature. The ball shows some small stains and scuff marks. The signatures were written with ink from a fountain pen, and the signatures generally rate about 7/10. The ball comes with a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity.
