O'Brien, Donoso, Freese, Saffell, Groat, Peterson, Hall, Law, Littlefield, Friend, Kline, Surkont, Thomas, Mejias, Martin, and one other (illegible). (The signature of manager Fred Haney on the sweet spot has been deemed a clubhouse example by PSA.) Signatures average 7/10 in grade. Clemente was twenty years old when he became the starting right fielder for the Pirates in 1955. Appearing in 124 games, he finished the year with 5 home runs, 47 RBI, and a .255 batting average. 1955 Pirates team-signed balls are scarce and represent one of the few items signed by Clemente that can be conclusively dated to his rookie season, making them especially significant.
