Displayed is a page signed by Walter Johnson, an inaugural inductee to the Hall of Fame. Johnson used his exceptionally long arms to generate great speed. He pitched his entire career for the Washington Senators. Johnson's best season was 1913, when he won both the American League MVP and the AL Pitching Triple Crown. That year he had a 36-7 record, with a 1.14 ERA and 243 strikeouts. He also won the Triple Crown in 1918 and the AL MVP, the Triple Crown, and the World Series in 1924. Johnson has a lifetime 417-279 record, and he trails only Cy Young in Major League lifetime victories. The page measures 4.8x6". It is from The New Hotel Biloxi, and it has an image of the large, vintage hotel. In part, the page reads, "'They all come back.'/Golf - Tennis - Hunting - Fishing/On the Gulf of Mexico/Biloxi, Miss." Typed, by an unknown person, on the upper right, is "Johnson, Walter F." The page exhibits some darkening, and there is a vertical fold in the middle, apparently when the page was folded in two. Johnson has inscribed and signed the page in ink as, "Best wishes Walter Johnson." The signature is very faint, as the ink has faded over the years. The page has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
