Displayed is a Mickey Mantle signed lithograph, from noted artist John Martin. The limited edition litho (205/298) measures 18x24". John Martin's work has been used by MLB, NFL, NBA, Milwaukee Bucks, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs, among many others. The offering is a cleverly designed collage that shows four different versions of Mantle: smiling head and torso; in a ready stance; just after swinging; in follow through. Mantle is the all-time MLB home run leader for switch-hitters (536), and Martin's depiction recognized Mantle's switch-hitting prowess, as the lithograph shows Mantle batting twice from each side. Martin has included the iconic frieze image from the original Yankee Stadium to form a sort of celestial canopy over his four versions of Mantle. The limited-edition lithograph is Number 205 of 298. The number 298 was chosen because of Mantle's .298 lifetime batting average. The lithograph is in excellent condition. Mantle has signed the lithograph in pencil with his classically scripted, big and bold signature. The litho has a handwritten "205/298" in pencil by an unknown hand.
