Tremendous artifact from one of the most infamous incidents in sports history in this 1919 World Series Press Ticket. This yellow-orange ticket stub measures roughly 3.75x2.5" and has been very neatly torn at the perforation. Front reads in part, "1919 World's Championship Series - Redland Field - Cincinnati," along with the admonition, "POSITIVELY NOT TRANSFERABLE" and the name of the recipient handwritten. It is possible that there is some toning (hard to tell based on the color), but it has an EX appearance on front as the stampings are immaculate and clear, and there are no blemishes evident except for a tiny approximately 0.5x0.25" strip of paper loss on the otherwise blank back. Encapsulated by PSA as STUB AUTHENTIC, it was valid for all games at Cincinnati including the all-important Game 1, as the Chicago White Sox would go down in history as the team that threw the World Series, invoking the famous "Black Sox" moniker. The age and World Series connection make this a prime collectible to begin with, but adding the tie-in to the "Eight Men Out" Black Sox scandal makes it virtually one-of-a-kind, as we are aware of only one other which has surfaced to date.
