Rare collection of retail items relating the Pittsburgh Condors of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The Pittsburgh Pipers were a charter member of the ABA and the league's first champion in 1967-1968. In 1970, the team changed its name to the Condors, but the franchise only survived one more season before being disbanded. This collection dates from the Condors' last two seasons in franchise history (1970-1972). The collection consists of the following items: 1) Pittsburgh Condors nylon windbreaker jacket. The gold button-down jacket features the Condors' team patch on the left breast. A "Swingster Jackets" label appears in the collar, which also bears the size: "Reg." Moderate wear. EX. 2) Pittsburgh Condors team wristwatch. The dial features the team's colorful logo, with the words "Condors," "ABA," and illustrations of two basketballs along the perimeter instead of numerals. Complete with its original black-leather wristband. The watch, which is not in working order, displays heavy wear, as does the wristband. GD. 3) Pittsburgh Condors Ashtray. Large circular ashtray featuring the Condors team logo in the center. Constructed of thick plastic. Diameter: 9". VG-EX. 4) 1970-1971 Pittsburgh Condors regular-season program. Issued for a game against the New York Nets. Not scored. 8.5x11". EX.
