Displayed is a team issued Gerrit Cole Houston Astros jersey from the 2019 season. Cole had a great season in 2019 on the mound. The right-hander went 20-5, and he led the American League in ERA with 2.50. He also led the AL in strikeouts with 326, and he finished second in the Cy Young Award. In that season, Cole pitched 212.1 innings and helped to take the Astros to the pennant. In his 10-season MLB career, Cole has pitched five seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates (2013-17), two seasons for Houston 2018-19), and is now in his third season with the New York Yankees (2020-22). As of the start summer in 2022, Cole is 123-64 lifetime, with a career 3.19 ERA. The white mesh jersey has "Astros" across the chest and "45" underneath the team's name, both in navy blue with orange trim. The bottom left outside tail has a Majestic manufacturer's patch. The patch also shows the MLB logo and "Authentic Collection." In addition, this patch also exhibits hologram number "VS058436" and size "46." The jersey is in excellent condition, and since Cole is currently only 31 years old, and pitching with a very strong New York Yankee team, he could eventually complete his career with outstanding lifetime statistics. Jersey was authenticated in the clubhouse in November following the season. The team labeled jerseys following the season as game issued even if it was worn, as they only assigned "game used" if they saw the player wear the jersey first hand.
