Rickard Rakell, a left wing from Sweden, was drafted in the First Round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks, and he has spent almost all of his NHL career playing for the Ducks before he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins late in the 2021-22 season. Offered is a pair of Rakell's game worn Bauer Vapor APX Pro hockey gloves from the 2013-14 season. Rakell broke into the NHL in the 2012-13 season, playing in only four games. The displayed gloves were worn by Rakell during the 2013-14 season, when he played in 18 games and registered four points on four assists. Rakell became a regular in 2014-15, and really hit his stride in 2015-16 when he had 20 goals and 33 assists. His best season was in 2017-18 when he was an All-Star and netted 34 goals and 35 assists for 69 points. In 2018, in international play, he also helped Sweden to win the World Championship. He won two Lady Byng Trophies, for 2016-17 and 2017-18. Overall, at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, he has so far totaled 158 goals and 194 assists for 352 points. On the palm side of each glove is Rakell's number "67" written in black marker. Inside the lower part of each glove is the year of use (2013-14) also written in black marker. "Rakell" is embroidered in white near the thumb protection pad on each glove. The gloves show great use. The left glove has excellent wear on the palm. Both gloves show fine wear overall, with much scuffing, and crinkling throughout the palm and grip areas, and the wearing away of the white colored palm area as well as exhibiting assorted loose threads. Rakell has signed (a little light) the right glove, near the topside wrist area, with a silver marker, and he has also inscribed "67" there.
