Displayed is the signed Cincinnati Reds baseball cap of Hall of Fame center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. Known as "Junior," Griffey is the son of former Cincinnati Reds' outfielder Ken Griffey Sr., and the younger Griffey remembers how he and the other young sons of the Reds felt when Cincinnati won a ballgame. "When [the Reds] won, we loved it because we ran into the locker room and touched all the bats and gloves and got bubble gum and red pop...." Junior played 22 Major League seasons, 13 with Cincinnati, 9 with the Seattle Mariners and part of a season with the Chicago White Sox. He hit 630 lifetime home runs and had a career OPS of .907. On September 14, 1990, Junior was playing in the same lineup with his father for the Seattle Mariners, and they became the first and still only father and son duo to hit back-to-back homers in the same game. The cap is a limited edition by Upper Deck Authenticated. The Pro Model cap is a New Era hat, sized 7 1/8. The cap has tags in the back inside hatband for: Authentic Baseball Collection, New Era, and a 59/50 size tag "7 1/8," reading "100% wool" and having a dry-cleaning instruction. The hat has a UDA hologram, but no certificate. It is signed by Griffey on the outside brim and numbered 216/300.
