Tony Gwynn Louisville Slugger pro-model ("B267") bat dating from the 1999 season. The cupped-end bat, which measures 33 inches and weighs 30.5 ounces, displays outstanding use throughout, including numerous ball marks, ink transfers, rack marks, a wrap of tape around the handle that extends 5.5 inches upward from the knob, and a large multiple crack in the handle (approximately 12 inches long; extends into the center brand). Gwynn's uniform number ("19") and the model number ("B267") are written in black marker on the end of the barrel. Written on the knob in black marker are the model number ("B267"), the bat's length and weight ("33-30.5"), and a circle with the number "28" written within it (a number beside it has been crossed out). The fact that the bat bears a second number means it is possible that it might have been also used by another player (outfielder Ruben Rivera wore number "28" with the Padres in 1999).  Gwynn enjoyed another banner season in 1999, batting .338 with 10 home runs and 62 RBI to help lead the Padres to their second National League Championship in franchise history. One of the greatest pure hitters in the history of the game, Gwynn batted over .300 in nineteen of his twenty seasons and won eight batting titles. In 1994 Gwynn finished the season with a .394 batting average, which is still the highest mark since Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941. He finished his career with a .338 lifetime average. Gwynn was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2007, his first year of eligibility.
