It appears that Hoyt began to inscribe the front in blue ink but then switched to blue marker, at which time he went over the "Good Luck" inscription. Hoyt has also scripted a lengthy note on the reverse in blue ink (9/10) that reads "Hope this is Okay. This picture was taken in 1921 - the last season the Yankees had two toned stockings.
