Original Type I photograph capturing Eddie Collins at bat during a game. The spectacular image pictures Collins in mid swing, just after he made contact. Collins was one of the greatest hitters of the deadball era and the textbook batting form he exhibits here shows why. Game-action shots from this era, especially those picturing prominent Hall of Fame players at the plate, are scarce, making this an especially desirable example. Three Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with Collins' name and several editorial markings. Also included is the date range "1907-1914." Actually, the date of the photo can be even more narrowly defined to the 1909 to 1914 time span because that was the six-year period in which the A's wore the pillbox style cap shown here. The photo (6.5x4.75") displays a few light surface wrinkles and is in Excellent condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
