Pedro Martinez was only listed as 5'11", very small stature by today's standards, but that never held him back in his Hall of Fame career. Pitching 18 seasons for six teams, Martinez was a 3-time Cy Young Award winner, took five ERA titles, won the pitching Triple Crown, was 219-100 lifetime. He helped the Boston Red Sox to win the 2004 World Series when he pitched seven shutout innings to win Game 3 over the St. Louis Cardinals. Martinez is currently a commentator for MLB Network. Presented is his circa 2000s Red Sox warm-up jacket. On the front is lettered "Red Sox." The jacket has metal snap buttons in front and no numbering. There is a MLB logo tag on the top back. The jacket exhibits great wear. There are sweat stains on the inside collar and on the tags in the collar. There are also a few minor stains on the outside collar. There is a rosin-like feel on parts of the jacket because the blue coloring is coming off the material. Handwritten on the Authentic Majestic neck tag is "P.M. 45," standing for Pedro Martinez, #45. Below the above-mentioned tag is a tag reading "L" for large size. On the lower right sleeve is a Majestic logo. On the lower inside front left is a tag showing the surface to be "P.U. Laminated," the backing "65%polyester/35%cotton," the lining "100% nylon," and the trim "100% Polyester." The jacket was acquired by a former Red Sox employee. A circa 2000s Boston Red Sox warm-up jacket comes from a golden era for the Red Sox, and the fact it was worn by Hall of Famer Martinez makes it even more in demand.
