Historic football from the first ever NFL victory for the defending Super Bowl Champ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wilson Official National League (Rozelle) football was presented to team owner Marvin Warner after the Bucs' surprising 33-14 victory over the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome on December 11, 1977; all details are painted on the panel below the laces. Ball shows use and does not currently hold air. The reason Tampa Bay's victory was so surprising was that they had gone their entire 1976 Inaugural Season without a win, the first such feat in the Super Bowl era. In fact, they had lost their first 26 regular season games before they had the chance to celebrate; New Orleans coach Hank Stram experienced quite different emotions, as he was fired the following day. With Tom Brady at the helm, the franchise's history has taken a very different turn from its early struggles, and this ball is from the win that got it started.  Presented to team partner.
