Original
glass plate negative of New York Yankees player/manager Frank Chance. The
candid image captures Chance as he stands next to the batting cage. Chance was
only with the Yankees for the 1913 and 1914 seasons, thereby conclusively
dating the negative to that short two-year span. The negative (7x5”) displays
minor flaws, mainly along the periphery, but the central image is largely
unaffected. Chance’s last name is etched along both the top and bottom borders.
A production number is etched in the upper left corner. VG. Accompanied by its
original paper sleeve. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
