Rare advertising sign heralding a charity exhibition game between the defending Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins and an Ontario Hockey Association (O.H.A.) all-star team at the Niagara Falls Arena in Ontario, Canada, on November 9, 1939. As noted in print on the sign, this was a benefit game, sponsored by the Niagara Falls, Ontario Hermes Club, with all proceeds going for "Boys' Work." This exhibition marked the Bruins' second game of the season. It was conveniently scheduled between the club's season opener in Toronto on November 4th, and its next scheduled game in Detroit on November 12th. Boston enjoyed another dominant season in 1939, finishing in first place with a record of 31-12-5. Unfortunately, they failed to repeat as champions, losing to the New York Rangers in the playoffs. The cardboard sign measures 10.5x16.25" (visible dimensions) and displays a heavy vertical and horizontal crease, as well as a few small tears and abrasions. In apparent Good to Very Good condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 21.5x15.25".
