Not quite the classic look of his more familiar Houndstooth Hat (of which one is available elsewhere in this auction), but this Alabama Crimson Tide baseball-style hat can be traced back to all-time legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. Heavy use shown in the AJP Super Stripes style cap, immensely popular across sports and teams in the 1970s. Some bleeding onto the white-on-crimson A is present, inside band has sweat stains, AJD tag, another illegible tag, adjustable. Printing on the band reads, "I ain't nothing but a winner" with name beneath; there is a crack to the brim. As the story goes, our consignor purchased Bryant's 1972 Cadillac and found these under a seat while performing repairs; included are images from the purchase and copy of Owner's Guide cover with Bryant's name on it.
