Vintage mounted photograph picturing the 1880 Yale baseball team. The formal studio photo captures twelve uniformed team members posing together, with eight also wearing their striped jackets. Adding to the appeal of the image is the prominent visibility of two baseball bats and and an early style catcher's mask. College baseball-team photos from this era are scarce, especially those picturing a prominent school such as Yale. The photo, which offers exceptional clarity, measures 9x6.75" and is mounted onto a cardboard backing of equal dimensions. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse backing, along with a handwritten pencil notation reading "Yale 1880 Baseball." There is a tiny tear along the top border that has been repaired with clear tape on the reverse; otherwise the photo is in Near Mint condition. Though this is clearly a vintage photo, because it has been mounted, PSA will not accept it for evaluation, therefore, no guarantee can be made regarding a specific Type designation.
