Pair of scarce circa 1970s Canadian 8x10" pro wrestling promotional photos featuring "Jean Ferre" and Roy Calender. Born Andre Roussimoff, the young Ferre is shown in action and identified as "7 pieds 4 pouces, 408 livres" (7'4" and 408 pounds in French), numbers that would become more familiar when his ring name was changed and he became world-renowned as Andre the Giant. Calender was a former bodybuilder who enjoyed a brief stint in Calgary wresting in the mid-70s, and is billed as "Mr. Univers (sic)" and the "World's Most Muscular Man" and is shown in bodybuilding poses. Both remain in Excellent condition, no writing, no pinholes, minor foxing at edges, particularly on the Calendar shot.
