Black and white 1963 photo shows boxing manager Angelo Dundee with his prize protege, then known as Cassius Clay before changing to Muhammad Ali or simply, The Greatest. We believe this 10x8" to be Type I and with date on back indicating that this was taken on 3/2/63, it is most likely of Clay training for his bout with Doug Jones on March 13th. Just two fights after defeating Jones by unanimous decision, he stunned Sonny Liston to capture his first championship and shortly thereafter announced his name change. Photo is in Excellent condition with no pinholes, back has a stamp reading "All Edits Sports" with IDs in pen, and date and Clay ID in pencil.
