Premier sports folk artist George Sosnak combined his terrific skills with a passion for baseball to make special items extraordinary. This ball is one of several available in this auction and is dedicated to the final bow of St. Louis Cardinals legend Stan "The Man" Musial. The entire north and south panels are reserved for the full boxscore of the Redbirds' 3-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on September 29, 1963, with Stan going out in style with a 2-for-3 day with an RBI. Signed on side panel by Musial, Sosnak enhanced the signature to make it look bold but that only adds to the magnificent detail for which Sosnak was famous. Simply amazing work putting so much on such a small "canvas."
