The brainchild of Herbert F. Simons, a Chicago Daily Times sportswriter, Baseball Digest debuted in August of 1942 and has been one of sports most popular periodicals ever since. Extensive collection spans five decades and is loaded with with all the big names and all the great covers we all remember. Run of Baseball Digests starts with August 1942 (the first issue) and runs until December 1995. Due to sheer volume, we assume it is most likely a full run but feel comfortable stating it is 90-95% complete with a few basketball, hockey and auto racing sprinkled in.
