Immaculate detail is the highlight of this pen and ink illustration of Hall of Fame halfback Steve Van Buren, created by Murray Olderman. The noted sports cartoonist's work has hung over plaques in Canton and one can see why in this fine work, which is framed and matted to 18.5x25". Olderman also used this on page 206 of his 1968 hardcover coffee table book, "The Running Backs," a copy of which is also included in this lot. Van Buren led the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns four times in a 5-year period spanning from 1945-49.
