A very important piece of hockey and Buffalo history in this one-of-a-kind puck used to score the very first goal in Sabres history. This comes directly from defenseman Jim Watson (not to be confused with Philadelphia Flyer Jimmy Watson), who netted the first of his only four career goals in that game, and he has written a Letter of Authenticity to go with the puck, which he has had in his possession since 1970. The official CCM/Converse puck shows use, with manufacturer's label on one side and Pittsburgh Penguins logo on the other. First round draft choice and future Hall of Famer Gilbert Perreault's tally led the expansion Buffalo squad to a 2-1 victory in their inaugural game on October 10. The Sabres celebrated their 50th NHL season one year ago, and this prized artifact is the one that got it all started.
