Tremendous item from a Hall of Famer in this circa 1998 Dallas Cowboys game worn helmet. Approximately 10 years ago, Tony Dorsett sold some items from his personal collection and this was one of them; it was given by Irvin to Dorsett, from one football great to another. Helmet is a near-perfect example with scuffs and scratches from use, "IRVIN" in blue Dymo tape on the back, and facemask is original (the only things that are not original are the two top clips for the face mask). There are plenty of signs of use inside also, including a 1998 All American recertification sticker, though this size 7 1/8 lid may have been used prior to 1998 as well. Includes Irvin's chin strap and mouth guard, which at one time was attached to the facemask. His Hall of Fame career - spent entirely with the Cowboys - included three Super Bowl championships before injury forced him the the sidelines after 12 stellar seasons. Comes with a very brief and to the point statement signed by Dorsett stating that this is from his personal collection.
