Bowman’s initial entry into the world of baseball pasteboards was limited to only 48 cards, but included some real stars of the day, including Berra, Spahn and Musial - all rookie cards. Excluding the stars, cards grade 10% EX or better, 24% VG to VG-EX, 18% GD to VG, 32% FR to GD and 16% PR; 16% are oc. Stars grade #3 Kiner (VG, oc), 4 Feller (looks EX, but creased), 5 Mize (VG-EX), 6 Berra (looks EX but light crease), 8 Rizzuto (GD-VG), 17 Slaughter (EX), 18 Spahn (PR-FR), 36 Musial RC (2: GD-VG, oc; EX, stain), and 38 Schoendienst (VG-EX, crease). All in all, upgrade about 10 cards and you’ll have yourself a decent collector grade set of 1948 Bowman baseball. Total of 57 cards.
