Superb 1906 mounted photograph of renowned escape artist Harry Houdini. From the James Winston Collection, also the originator of the exquisite Jack Johnson photo elsewhere in this auction, this is a magnificent photo as the illusionist is shown in his early-30s with hands and arms shackled. Photo is taped on mount and measures 7.5x10" total, with Siegel Studio of Boston on the mount. Signed and dated March 22/06 by Houdini in black fountain ink, rates 7/10; the autograph has been traced over but it is determined that this was done by Houdini himself as the original may not have been clear enough. Photo and mount are close to EX, comes with PSA LOA.
