Tremendous 1948 Phil Masi game used Boston Braves jersey, lot includes period pants, stirrups, and spikes. We do know that Masi used this gray road jersey and likely in 1948 and the additional pieces display nicely to complete a full uniform, though we are unsure as to who wore the other pieces. Beautiful condition on the jersey, all original but for the number on the back which has a period change from 10 to 38; though we are unclear as to when the number change occurred, it was most likely after the 1948 season or when Masi left the team, but the change is vintage to the late 1940s. Rest is all original with the front bearing the the Braves tomahawk logo and colorful Indian Chief patch on the left sleeve. Masi is sewn in the collar along with Horace Partridge size 44 tag; Braves pants are from the same era but have 31 sewn in them, so likely worn by Mike McCormick. We also don't know who wore the spikes and stirrups, though they came with this set. Masi was the starting catcher for that Boston squad, which won the National League pennant before dropping the World Series to the Cleveland Indians in six games.
